Terms of Service

By creating an account or using horog (“the Service”, operated by beside Co., “we”, “us”) you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

horog is a SaaS that connects to third-party services (payment platforms and time trackers) you authorize, calculates your effective hourly rate per project, and generates AI-driven insights.

• You must be at least 16 years old (14 in some jurisdictions including Korea).
• You must provide accurate information when signing up.
• You may only connect third-party accounts that you are authorized to access.

• Authentication is via Google OAuth. We do not store passwords.
• You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

• Paid plans are billed via Polar Software Inc. (Merchant of Record). We never see or store your card details — only subscription metadata (plan, status, period).
• Subscriptions renew automatically each month (or year for annual plans) until canceled via the billing management page (Polar Customer Portal).
• Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice for existing subscribers; new prices take effect at the next renewal.

• 14-day full refund — request a refund within 14 days of your initial payment for any reason, regardless of usage.
• After 14 days, refunds are generally not provided except when we are at fault (e.g., extended outage preventing service use).
• Request via hello@horog.app. Processed within 3 business days.

• AI insights and natural-language queries are processed via Anthropic, PBC. Your inputs are sent to Anthropic per their policies. Anthropic does not train on data sent via the API.
• Plan limits apply. Pro+ subscribers may add their own Anthropic API key (“BYOK”) to bypass usage caps at their own cost. BYOK keys are AES-256-GCM encrypted at rest.
• AI output is a statistical estimate. Verify against source data before making important decisions.

You agree NOT to:

• Use bots, scrapers, or automated abuse
• Reverse engineer the Service or bypass technical safeguards
• Create multiple accounts to bypass AI rate limits
• Upload illegal content or violate others' rights
• Resell access to the Service without our written permission

• You retain ownership of all data you upload or that we ingest on your behalf from connected integrations.
• You grant us a limited license to process your data solely for providing and improving the Service to you. We do not sell your data.
• The Service software, logos, and trademarks remain our intellectual property.

The Service relies on third-party APIs that may experience outages, rate-limit you, or change without notice. We are not responsible for data loss, delays, or inaccuracies caused by upstream providers.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

• You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We will permanently erase your personal data and integration credentials within 30 days, except records we are required to retain by law.
• We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach (e.g., Section 8 violations) with prior notice when practicable.

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version with a new effective date and notify registered users via email at least 7 days in advance (30 days for unfavorable changes). Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved by good-faith negotiation first; failing that, by the courts having jurisdiction in the Republic of Korea.
